Falcons Junior Boys Win Gold!
A belated congratulations to the U/17 Boys team coached by Liam Sketcher who grabbed Gold in the 2011 season with a 3-1 (25-14 24-26 25-22 25-17) Grand Final win over the Melbourne Uni Renegades.
This caps off a very impressive year with 11 season-games won (with 1 forfeit) and the only set lose for the year being in the Grand Final.
This was capped off with Darcy Rodgers winning the MVP for the season with Luke Brisbane closely following in second place.
Hopefully the success can be continued next year!

2011 Volleyball Victoria Awards Night Update
Congratulations to Darcy Rodgers for winning MVP for the the U17 boys division. Well done Darcy, and hopefully we can follow it up with with Gold next week!

Jarvis Mellor representing Australia in China
Our very own Jarvis Mellor, has been selected to represent Australia in the World Uni Games in China.
We all wish him good luck on the trip and will miss him on the court at State League.

2010 State League Finals
The 2010 Finals series has not been a successful one for the Falcons, with 3 teams dropping out in the first round and another dropping out in the second round. A big congratulations goes out to our Junior Boys who have made it into the Grand Final in their first season in Juniors. Coached by Liam Sketcher, these boys finished second on the ladder and beat Monash University to go into the Grand Final, which will be against Renegades at 10am this Saturday.
Lets all get down there and support the boys in the Junior Final!!!

Australian Junior Volleyball Championships
The Australian Junior Volleyball Championships finished up on Saturday in Perth with some very successful results for the Victorians.
The medal getters were:
- Under 17 Men – GOLD
- Under 19 Men – SILVER
- Under 19 Women – SILVER
- Under 21 Men – BRONZE
- Under 21 Women – GOLD
Congratulations to all those who represented Victoria in the Championship, and also a special mention to Jaimee-Lee Morrow who made the All Star 7 in the Under 19 competition. Great work everyone!
Falcon in Fox FM Radio Competition
Melbourne Falcon Ryan Dunn is currently in the running to replace Matt Tilley on the Matt & Jo Show on Fox FM for a week. This morning Ryan was announced in the Final 3 contestants for the role of show host for next week while Matt spends time overseas following the Tour de France.

Falcons Honours games Streamed Live this weekend!
If you can’t make it down to the State Volleyball Centre this Saturday, why not watch it live on the net? Both Mens and Womens Honours teams are in the Round 9 “Feature Games.”

International Volleyball in Melbourne: Australia vs Canada

Volleyball Victoria will host their first full International games since 2006 when Australia play Canada at the State Volleyball Centre on Friday July 2nd and Saturday July 3rd.
Both teams will be at full strength in the lead in to the World Championships that will commence in Italy in October this year.
The Match Schedule:
- Friday 2nd July – 7pm start – State Volleyball Centre, 270 Stud Rd Dandenong North
- Saturday 3rd July - 3pm start – State Volleyball Centre, 270 Stud Rd Dandenong North
